Outdoor boy

Barnabas is showing signs of being the adventurous boy. He does not like to stay inside the house. Whenever possible he would want to go out and play outside the house. He would explore the compound and play at the swing. When his grandmother is outside, he would call out to her and want to be with her. His grandmother (as many grandmother would do) would carry him and they would spend the time together outside the house. His grandmother would be peeling the coconut leaves to make the broom and he would just play around there. He would explore the compound, picking up things, running here and there. When he grows up, I will need to teach him many outdoor skills like camping, climbing trees, hiking and also maybe martial art skills.

Three different eaters

It is nice to see the different personalities that God has given to my children. Yes, each one of them is unique and special. Even in the matter of eating preferences all my three children have different preferences.

Annabelle is more of the carnivor, loves to eat chicken meat. Clarissa however loves to eat rice only, not so much of meat. Barnabas, on the other hand loves to eat vegetables.

She is a teacher.

She likes to teach. No, not my wife but Annabelle. When her younger siblings have not arrived yet, she would just listen and try to learn the lessons we taught her. She has been slow in registering new information but once she has registered it in her mind, she would remember it well.

When Clarissa was about a year plus, we started to teach her some lessons. Annabelle would also join in. Many times after we finished teaching the lessons, Annabelle would stand up and then try to be the teacher to Clarissa. She would imitate what we have done during the lessons.

Recently, her mother bought for her some make-up kits. Well, it is actually Annabelle who wanted it. She would apply the make-up on her face and then teach Clarissa to do the same. I think when she grows up she can go to cosmetology schools and learn the skills there. Then she can apply whatever she has learned and teach others also. She can even open a salon and enjoy doing what she likes best.

She needs affections

Another one thing I noticed about Annabelle is that she needs to be shown affection. Many times when I was around doing my things, she would just come and want to sit on my lap or lie down on my lap. She knows that I would cuddle her and embrace her and she would just enjoy it. The look at her face shows that she wants her daddy's love. And it is a joy just to shower her with affections. Once she has received the affection she needs she would go back to do her own things.

She needs encouragement

Annabelle has been a blessing to me since her birth. Yes, the other children too have been a blessing. Since Annabelle is the eldest, I first learned about parenting since her arrival. There are many trials and challenges being a new father but it has been rewarding. I enjoyed teaching Annabelle her new skills. She has been a cautious girl and still is. She is not so daring to try out new things but once she is encouraged by others she would give it a try. The easiest way to persuade her to do things is by words of encouragement or by words of challenge.

Clarissa our "son".

I remember when my wife was pregnant with Clarissa, we were expecting a son. Clarissa was very active when still in her mother’s womb. That is one of the reasons we thought that it would be a boy. I remembered playing with her, touching the bulge caused by her feet on her mother’s stomach. She would move her feet away and then press her mother’s stomach again. Her playfulness is very apparent after she was born. We went to the baby stores to prepare for “his” arrival. We did buy a few clothing for our “son”. Anyway, those clothing are not a waste as we used it for Barnabas, our son.

She is jealous

Last Sunday we went to church. During the altar call, Pastor Lee Neo asked the congregation to hold other people's hand for corporate prayer. Clarissa was with her mother at the mother's room at the back of the sanctuary. After the prayer, her mother told me that Clarissa cried when she saw me holding a lady's hand during the prayer. Hahaha...so cute to hear that.

Then when I asked her why she is jealous and cry, she said, "I want daddy". Wah...so strong her feelings for her daddy that holding hands in prayer is also not permissible.

She wants me

My daughter Clarissa seems to be attached to me. Everytime I want to hug my wife and if Clarissa sees us, she would cry. At first I thought that Clarissa does not want me to hug her mommy. After a few times, we realized that she actually do not want her mommy to hug me.Hahaha. Clarissa would cry and then ask me to hug her. After I hugged her she would stop crying. She wants me, her daddy is hers, not even her mommy can hug her daddy. Haizzzz...

Security is needed

A customer came to the internet shop and told me of the problem with his laptop. He used his pendrive to save a file at his college computer. When he connects the pendrive to his laptop, he is unable to view his C and D drive. His other friends who used the college computers were facing the same problem. They tried their best by scanning for viruses but to no avail. A few of his friends had to reformat the whole harddisk because of that problem.

I checked all the programs in the laptop. He is using one Norton Antivirus program. There are no other security programs beside the antivirus program. He should have use ESET antivirus program. Furthermore, there are other essential programs that every computer should have such as anti-spyware, firewall, and anti-exploits programs. However since there warranty is still applicable, I advised him to send the laptop back to the dealer.

Running Of The Bulls

If you are visiting Spain in July, make sure you visit Pamplona in the Northern part of Spain. If you are a Catholic then you can join and enjoy the celebrations for San Fermin, the patron saint of the city. If you are not, then you can enjoy the Running of the Bulls or “Encierro”.

How does “Encierro” started? It began during the festival of the bullfight. The bulls that are being used in the bullfight that evening were "run" by the drovers from their enclosure through the streets and into the pens within the bullring "Plaza de Toros". As time passed by the locals decided to also run along with the bulls. Later the more daring decided to run in front of the bulls. Since 1852 the route for the “Encierro” remains the same, from Santo Domingo Street, through the Plaza Consistorial and along Estafeta Street via the dangerously twisting Mercaderes Street. The run itself is about half a mile long through cobbled, narrow streets marked out by a tall, sturdy double-lined fence.

Where do you go to find the branded clothes that you are looking for? Most people would go to the boutique and spend hours there to try out the clothes on display. Well, it is more so for the ladies. And sometimes, they might not even buy any if the clothes do not fit their “beautiful, sexy and slim” figure. I think it is more accurate to say that they won’t buy the clothes if the clothes do not make them look “beautiful, sexy and slim”. It is the same for guys too. Clothes are meant to improve our outward appearance. Most importantly it is meant to cover our bodies though this purpose might have been discarded by some.

Back at home

A missionary family came back home for furlough about a month ago. They have been in the mission field for three years and it was decided for them to take a break. Since they are taking a long furlough they have to bring back most of their belongings. Some of the things they just leave behind and give to others. They had to engage one Long Distance Moving Companies to ship back the other belongings. It is not easy to move from one place to another. They told me that they had to pack all their belongings at least one month before the day they have to move. If they have to transport everything on their own, it would take ages and troublesome. BMW is well known for its' luxury cars. It's slogan promises the buyer or driver the experience of Performance, Precision, & Perfection. And rightly so.

But do you know that BMW also promises boredom. Yes, that's true. Just look at this advertisement board.

Take notice of the comma after the word "Goodbye".
Reading it in a grammatically correct way would mean that BMW is promising boredom to its buyer. Hmmm...small error but big difference.

Now, I don't want to buy a BMW because it will make my life really boring.

A gift for her

I did something that was way out from my normal self at that time. I just arrived from outstation and my sister asked me out to follow her goes shopping. I agreed as I know that girl is working in one of the shops at the shopping mall. I liked that girl very much. She does not know that I am back at home so I want to surprise her.

When we arrived at the shopping mall, I told my sister that I need to buy a bouquet of flowers. My sister was very surprise. I told her that it is for the girl that I liked. She just smiled. After buying the bouquet of flowers I carry it to the shop where the girl works. Truthfully, I felt awkward carrying a big bouquet of flower in the shopping mall. It seems that all eyes are on me. There is even one girl who jokingly said to me, “Is it for me?” referring to the bouquet of flowers. I think it would not be so awkward if I were to carry a chocolate gift basket.

Anyway, when I reached the shop, the girl that I liked was there. She was so surprise when she saw me. When I presented her the bouquet of flowers, she flushed. There are two other girls in the shop and they just smiled at her. It was nice to see her expression when she received the flower. Shy but very happy.

I got cotton candy

Went to buy titbits stocks for the shop. There is one wholesaler at Kampung Hulu that sells various types of titbits at quite a cheap price. I have been buying from him and sell it in my shop.

Yesterday, I went there with my wife and guess what I saw there. Cotton candy. Yeah... it is sold in one big plastic bag that contains about 20 small packets of cotton candy. Bought one big plastic bag, not for resale but for my own consumption. While still in the car, opened one small packet and enjoyed the taste of melting cotton candy in my mouth.

Before the big game

It is wonderful to see great team plays in a tournament. The skills and unfettered determination shown during the game inspires many. Many would wish to be able to achieve such skills and achievement. However, not many want to go through the training and long hours of perfecting the skills.

If you ever get the chance to see great players do their training, I would encourage you to go for it. If you love baseball, you should see players prepare themselves during the Spring Training. You can buy the San Francisco Giants Tickets and watch Eugenio Velez in action. Well, let’s hope that even though Velez sustained a "small fracture" in his right wrist, he would be able to play in the Spring Training.

Cotton candy

One of the childhood memories is about eating cotton candy. At that time, it was a rare treat if my father buy something extra for the children. No, not because he does not want to but he can't afford it. Providing food, shelter and clothings for 11 children is not an easy tasks. I am not talking about him running a children home. I am talking about his own children.So if and when he does bring extra food/titbits we would all be delighted.

I remember tasting cotton candy when I was small. Wah... so nice and it melts in the mouth. I would take bit by bit and put it into my mouth and let it melt. Of course the sweetness is also another factor that attracted me to it. I love it.

I wonder why my tenant Nasser wants to buy a second hand car. He has the means to buy a new car. I am sure that his father would be willing to help him out if he were to ask his father. Well, that is his choice and decision. He has to travel all the way to Puchong to buy that second hand car. He told me that he has tried looking for a suitable car in Melaka but did not manage to find one.

Later he found one car that he likes in the magazine MotorTrader. He should have look for the car online. If I were him, I would look for Honda Cars. The car designs are attractive and so is the quality. I would say that Honda Car Prices is quite affordable. Even then every interested buyer should ask for Honda Car Quotes so that they can compare prices offered by different dealers. But then again, Nasser has his own preferences. Whatever it is, it is better to search online first.

Needing love

Annabelle small finger got bitten by an insect just now. We already asked her to sleep as it is already past her bedtime. She opened the room door and told me and her mommy that her finger is pain pain. Thinking that she is just trying to go out from the room and play, I told her to go back to sleep. After about 5 minutes she opened the room door again and said the same thing. Scolded her and asked her to go back to sleep again. About a minute later we heard her crying in the room.

Went in and while still crying she showed me her finger. I was afraid that she might have twisted her finger but thank God it was not the case. Brought her out from the room and applied some ointment on her finger. Immediately she quietened down. She also asked me to pray for her finger. In the room she seems so happy. I guess she wants attention from her parents more than the ointment. Now she is asleep.

What else is my option?

If ever I should fail to get a suitable job, I think I would take the risk and play shares. Hahaha...joking lah. I am not a big risk taker. I would like to buy and own shares but not to "play shares". Some of my brothers do play shares. They are more of a risk taker compared to me.

An Indian lady with her 4 years old daughter came into the shop. She approached my wife who was there to stand in for me while I took a bath. She asked whether there is any vacancy in the shop. My wife told her that there is no vacancy as we have enough staffs to look after the shop. Even if there is not enough staffs, would I hire the lady?

The answer would definitely be "NO". The reasons are plentiful. She is not qualified for the position. I would need to find people with the right "expertise" or knowledge to look after the shop and maintain the computers. Even now, I have two workers, one who does not have much knowledge about computers while the other one does. I find that I am less worried about the condition of the computers as I can rely on the staff that have computer knowledge.

Back to work

Would I have enough income to support my family? That is the question that I would have to wrestle with. One possibility is to go back to work at the internet cafe. So, instead of having two staffs that frees me to look after my children and spend more time with my family, I would have to terminate one staff and work there. Then I would have some income for myself. Then again, this would bring me back to the time when I first started the business, being at the shop most of the time. There would not be much time spent with the children or family. Hmmm...back to work.

Get married for fun?

Watched a movie with my wife last night after we came back from shopping. I did not watched the beginning of the movie so I was not sure what is the story is all about. But the part of the movie that I watched showed a lady who is in love with another guy but that guy is married. She just want to be married even though she does not love the guy that she is supposed to marry. I wonder why would anyone do such a stupid thing.

Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman. It is to be honored and taken seriously as the vows said on the wedding day are binding on each other. I guess the media has portrayed marriage as just a licence to be together and that there is not much value in marriage. No wonder our society begins to deteriorate morally. Don't get married for fun. If you do that you will surely suffer when all the fun disappeared.

Went to church on Sunday. The speaker spoke about the Marriage of the Lamb. It is interesting to note that to have a wedding ceremony is not as easy as it seems. There are a lot of plannings to be done. And the planning starts months before the actual wedding day. In certain society, the wedding might be simpler than others. Having been through a wedding, I know that wedding preparation is not easy and could be a major test to the relationship.

Drafting the agreement

Looks like I have to put my legal knowledge to use again. My brother asked me to prepare the contract between him and my tenant. Well, looks like no matter what other careers that I am involved in, the legal background still comes in handy from time to time. Maybe I should just be a "freelance lawyer" as my part time though I don't think that is permitted.

My brother accepted the offer to become the guarantor for my tenant's hire purchase. When asked about why he accepted the offer, he told us that it is a calculated risks. I think it is worth the risks that he is taking. This is what he will get for being a guarantor.

For the first 2 years, he will get RM3000. After that, my tenant would have to sell the car or find other guarantors to replace my brother. If my tenant fails to find other guarantor or fails to sell the car, he would have to pay my brother RM3000 every year until the car is fully paid. The car purchase price is only RM21,000.

Well, this is calculated risks. My brother is willing to take the risks for the offer, knowing that in the worst case scenario, he can pay up the total purchase price.

Spare the rod spoils the child

The time has come for me to use the cane on Barnabas. No, not that I will simply cane him for my own enjoyment. No father will simply cane the son for fun. Only evil father do that.

Barnabas is almost 2 years old already. He understands a lot of things though he does not talk much. He learns and starts to imitate other people especially from his sisters. All the while the cane has not been used on him but he realised that being caned is not a good thing. He would be quiet when the sisters are being caned. But he also noticed that he can get away with doing "naughty" things without being caned. So the time has come for him to learn good habits and not to do naughty things. The cane will be his unconscious teacher, directing his thoughts and mind to behave properly.

Now that I am not allowed to be online most of the time because my wife thinks that I will play Mosiang 80% of my awake time (just a figure of speech), I would have to find other ways to spend my time. Of course, since my time is taken up to look after the children, I do not really have other time to do other things. But then again my wife wants to resign and that would mean that I would have to find other means to support the family.

Maybe I can get extra income by selling Sunglasses. Yes, there is a big market for sunglasses. Try to observe the people in the street especially those riding the motorbike or even at the beach. You will notice that most of them would wear sunglasses. Some would wear it for eye protection but most would wear it to look good. Whatever the reasons may be, there is a demand for sunglasses. Need a new radiator

Every two days my wife car needs to be checked. Most of the time there would be enough water in the car radiator. If this is not done regularly, we would see the temperature of the car shot up very fast. Then we know that there is not enough water in the radiator. We then quickly stop at the nearest petrol station to fill up the water tank. Of course we do not want our engine to blow out while we are driving.

I didn't realised that I played Mosiang 80% of my awake time. That's what my wife told me. I think she calculated it for me yesterday or this morning. Wah... that's a long long time to spend time on a game. Let's say I am awake for about 16 hours. 80% of 16 hours is about 13 hours. Yesterday, I went to church for 3 hours already. Then at the evening I went for soccer for about 3 hours. Then nite time went to Tesco with wifey for about 1.5 hour.

Looks like the total time not playing Mosiang yesterday was 7.5 hours. Of course this is assuming that I don't eat or bath or do other things except playing Mosiang and the three other things I did yesterday. That would mean that the % of hours I spent on Mosiang yesterday while I am awake is only 53%. Hmmm... wonder where she get the answer as 80%.

The Girls are here!

Woke up this morning and as I turned around, I saw my two girls still sleeping in the room. Haiya.... looks like they can't wake up this morning and Mommy decided to let them sleep and skip school. The night before both of them slept late. Annabelle slept at 1am. Haiya...cannot like this every day lah. Now, they are disturbing me.

What else?

Now that the new business is put on hold, I still have to find ways to get more income. Spoken to wife about our future and she is quite sure that she wants to be a SAHM (staying at home mommy). If she were to do that our income would be reduced dramatically, and I really mean dramatically. God has really blessed us with her job. Indeed it is her income that has pull us through this past one year.

What can I do when she stops work? Of course the internet business is there but it is not generating income for me. Well, maybe I can do other business like network marketing. I already signed up with USANA but has not been promoting it due to other priorities. Alternatively, I can be a coin dealer and sells gold coins or bullions. New Business delayed

Looks like the bakery business will be put on hold for a while. My partner has to go back to Ukraine to take care of the business there for the time being. He has one bakery shop in Ukraine and his wife (who is an Ukrainian) manages it. I was told by a friend of his that he will go back and settle the problem that occured there. Then he would come back to Malaysia. As far as the business is concerned, he is still very much interested in it. So, new business is put on hold for the time being.

Good shots

While we were in Pantai Klebang, my wife took some photo shots of the children. The children were playing with the sand. She also took some pictures of the beach and the sunset. We have one digital camera that is not of the best quality but sufficient for us to capture the precious moments. As it turns out, the pictures were very nice. This is one picture I like as it captured the sunset lights on the beach and the children.

I think maybe it is good that my wife learns to take high definition videos. It is not only to capture the precious moments of our children but also that she can make some income from it. If she had some good high definition video clips she can send to HD Stock Video Library. The video clips can be on sale to the public. And the sale is not just a one time outright sale. The video clips can be sold again and again to different customers. She will be paid 50% of the sale revenue which she will received at the end of every month. So instead of just blogging she can also earn extra income from the good shots.

Can I borrow again?

We were at the beach this evening. We were thinking of letting Annabelle to sit on the horse. She has been asking about it. “Where can we go for a holiday tomorrow?” my wife asked me.
“I don’t know lah where to go.” I replied her.
“Hah...maybe we can go to Orlando. We can get discount hotel reservations if we book it online.” “Its nice if we are staying in Orlando. There is Disney World and 52 theme parks to visit every time there is a holiday”, she said jokingly.

We went back, still undecided on where to go tomorrow.

Fun Fair or Ache Fair

We went to the Fun Fair at Klebang Beach the other day. It is not a big Fun Fair but there was enough stalls to give children and adults a time of fun and excitement. Our first “fun” time was the Ferris Wheels. Since we (wife, 3 children and myself) are their first customers (they just started operating hour when we arrived) the operator let us be in the wheels for more than 10 rounds. I was wondering when it would stop. After we came out, my wife told me that she felt dizzy because of the ride. Belle then complains of stomachache.

So we stopped by at a clinic on the way back. The doctor that saw Annabelle gave a few tips on how to stop the stomachache and diarrhea. That night we bought young coconut water for Annabelle to drink.

Do you love to give?

As usual when it is near Christmas, people would be planning on what to buy and give to their loved ones. It could be a joy to buy and give to others. Or it could also be a dread to know that Christmas is nearing soon. As for me, Christmas has always brought mixed feelings. As much as I want to celebrate God’s goodness in sending Jesus to die for man, I can’t help but to feel that Christmas has been too commercialized. The main focus of Christmas now is the gifts.

Yes, if you ask the children on what they associate Christmas with, the answer would most probably be Santa Claus and receiving gifts. If we give gifts because we want to show love then Christmas would be a joy. However if we give because we have to, then Christmas would be a dread. More focus now

Now that I am over my preaching, I can be more focus on the blog. Come to think of it, my wife has been working very hard to blog. So far I could only manage to write about a quarter of the total posts of all our blogs. A rich wife but a poor husband. Thank God that she is a Christian. If not, long time de she would have left me for another husband, a rich one. So now, I need to be more focus on helping her to help me also.

Playing for money

Almost everyone that I told about online game felt that it is a waste of time and money. “You can do better things than just sit there and play your game” would be a common response from them. Haiya… if everybody thinks about doing “better things” all the time, life would be so boring. We do need time to relax, time to play and time to have fun. All work and no play make me a dull person.

Furthermore, not all online games are a waste of time. Most of the games require thinking skills. Games like Backgammon may not be as easy as it looks. Firstly you need to know the Backgammon rules before you can play it well. Of course, you need to constantly use your mind in order to win. That is the difficult part as some of us are not use to exercising our minds. Come to think of it, those who “exercise” their mind constantly seldom get Alzheimer when they get older.

Another advantage of playing online game is that you can actually play Backgammon for money. No, I do no encourage gambling here. It is more of entering a game competition. If you feel that you can win, why not go for it. That is what most of the athletes do in the various tournaments, so why not online gamers do the same.

Sitting away

The other day I knocked down the bench inside my house compound. I was reversing my car but unfortunately did not notice that I reversed too far back. Suddenly I heard a small knocking sound. When I look at the back, I saw that the long wood that we used as a bench and one of its legs had been knocked down. There goes the long bench.

It is nice to sit at the garden especially at night. Maybe if I buy teak garden furniture and put it in my house compound, I can then enjoy the night cool air with my family. Not many types of wood can endure the outside weather. Furniture made of teak wood can last long. The teak benches would do great for my compound. I can be sitting away on the teak benches at night chatting with my wife. Building intimacy also requires good furniture.

Where is the table?

We bought a new chair. It is the chair that is normally used by the executives in a company. It can be reclined a bit and made of durable pvc material. But the main reason we bought the chair is for comfort and health purposes. The previous chair is very uncomfortable. It is not good for our posture. Since we spent quite a considerable time using the computer we know that we need to find a good chair.

Our next task is to find another table. My wife has bought a new laptop and we are sharing the computer table. It is not a good arrangement for her as she has to use the side of the computer table. No, of course I am not buying the LAN rack. It is used mostly in computer shop where they need to stack the computer casing and monitors. If I decided to start a computer shop, then I would probably need to buy the LAN rack.

As for now, maybe I will get the Modesty Panel table. Yes there is such thing as Modesty panel table. This table is designed in such a way that people who is in front of the table would not be able to see your sexy leg as it is fully covered by another panel. But then again, in my own house, I do not mind seeing my wife's sexy leg. Hehehe... .

I need a laugh

After helping wifey with the blog posts and after the preaching, I find that I need to find something humorous. And then this joke arrived in my email. I still can laugh at this joke even though I read it many times before this.


A Chinese walks into a bar in America late one night and he saw Steven Spielberg. As he was a great fan of his movies, he rushes over to him, and asks for his autograph.

Instead, Spielberg gives him a slap and says, "You Chinese people bombed our Pearl Habour, get outta here."

The astonished Chinese man replied, "It was not the Chinese who bombed your Pearl Harbour, it was the Japanese".

"Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, you're all the same," replied Spielberg.

In return, the Chinese gives Spielberg a slap and says, "You sank the Titanic, my forefathers were on that ship."

Shocked, Spielberg replies, "It was the iceberg that sank the ship, not me."

The Chinese replies, "Iceberg, Spielberg, Carlsberg, you're all the same."
