Praise God that Clarissa is now becoming more vocal in her expression. Just now when brought them back from MIL house, I had to carry her from the car to the house as she did not bring her slippers with her. As usual her "bantal busuk" (security blanket) must always be with her wherever she goes. It dropped outside the car and as usual I playfully threatened to give her bantal busuk to the dog to eat. Of course she wanted to cry.

But after I gave the pillow to her, to my amazement, she told me, "Daddy, I love you" and then come and hug me. Waaa.... so nice to her that from her. I'm a blessed father.

Islam... a free will religion or not!

While much has been said by Islam advocates that that religion practices free will, the real truth is that it is NOT. How can one says that it is your free will to accept and believe in Islam and once you're in, then your free will is taken away from you and you must obey the syariah law which (in truth) prohibited you from renouncing Islam at all. Below is the excerpt taken from The Star online dated 30 May 2007.

Counsel: Islam can’t be renounced at will

PUTRAJAYA: Lina Joy cannot become an apostate at will as she is subjected to the dual legal system, namely the civil courts and the Syariah Courts as well as the Syariah laws practised in this country.

Senior Federal Counsel Datuk Umi Kalthum Abd Majid, who appeared for the Government and the NRD director-general, said this was because Lina is still a Muslim, unlike a non-Muslim who is only subjected to the civil courts.

“The issue of renunciation is a matter pertaining to the akidah (faith) of a Muslim transgressed into the realism of the Syariah Law, which needs serious consideration and proper interpretation of such laws,” she said.

“As such, only the Syariah Court and/or bodies are qualified to make such a determination.”

Umi added that a proper determination of the status of the purported renunciation of Islam by Lina, being a Muslim, is important as the determination will take her out of the application of the Syariah Laws and out of the jurisdiction of the Syariah Courts.

She said there was no relevance to make references to Article 11(1) of the Federal Constitution, as Lina was not prohibited from renouncing her religion.

“The issue here is that, in order to renounce Islam, she must go to the proper channels as provided by law and she cannot renounce her religion, Islam, at will,” she said.

Come on lah.... she already said that she does not believe in Islam, why do the authority still want to bind her to that religion. It should be a free will decision, not coercion.

If you mentioned Mexico to me, the first thing that comes to my mind is the cartoon "Speedy Gonzales", that cute mouse that can run very fast, helping out other mice that are in trouble. Of course there are other impressions like the big hat that the Mexicans likes to wear and their slang.

Because of the frequent disruption of internet connection to my shop, I checked out the various other possible options for broadband services in Malaysia. To my horror, there is none available for the location that the shop is situated, only TMNet. Haiyooooooo...... Malaysia wants to be a fully developed and even have the Mulitmedia Super Corridor. But the internet connection provided by ISP providers are truly below par. Haiyooo.... I'm stuck with TMNet.

They left me...

Wifey and Annabelle left for Penang this morning. Sent them and Lily Chin to the LCCT Terminal. Flight at 11.10am but was informed later that it was delayed for 15 minutes. This will be the first for Michelle and Annabelle, first AirAsia flight for both of them and first flight for Annabelle.

So now, I'm back at home together with Clarissa and Barnabas. Praying that Clarissa won't miss the mother and sister so much. MIL has generously offered to look after the two of them while I'm working at night.

TMNet disruption again.

Haiyo.... pening pening. Because my business rely on TMNet for their broadband service, whatever affects them will also affects my business. Two days ago, one of TMNet server broke down. And the whole day there was no internet line for my shop. No internet, no business. It was the lowest sale day for this year. Yes, the lowest sale.... haiyo.... mati lah like this if their server broke down often. So more, when call their service centre, the usual answer was given. Give up hope of expecting good service from TMNet. Considering other alternatives now.

Father's Day

Now that Mother's Day is over, the world will celebrate Father's Day. No, no, no, I did not say that we should forget our mothers. We should and must remember and love our mothers throughout the year. But Father's Day is coming and so we also need to prepare for that too. When I think about my late father, I know that he would also feel happy to receive a gift from the children. That would mean a lot to him. Now being a father myself, I am always happy to see my two daughters come to me, hug me and say that they love me. Sometimes they would go outside and pluck flowers and give it to me as a gift. Simple but meaningful.

Well, as usual I do not expect anything on Father's Day. As long as my children are in good health and happy, I am a happy father. Internet down again....

Went to the shop at 9pm just now. To my horror, the internet is still down. And it has been down since 1pm in the afternoon. Because of that the income today is the lowest this year. What can I do but to sigh and utter a prayer to God. Praying that by tomorrow TMNet will fix the problem. I found out from one of the customer that a few areas was hit with this problem. Looks like it is a big problem that has yet to be fixed by TMNet.

Hula hula.... Hawaii

When I was small, one of the most publicized tourist spot is Hawaii. With its beautiful islands and beaches, it has become one of the world's top vacation destination. And with strong waves from the ocean, it is indeed a haven for wave-surfing. A few of my friends been there for their holiday and came back with nice and wonderful stories about Hawaii. They assured me that Hawaii is indeed one of the best place to go for a holiday. Hmmm..... wonder when I will be able to go.

I'm not sure where they stay during their holiday there but if they want to go there again, I would recommend them about Hanalei Bay Resort. Haha... no, I have not stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort but got to know about it online. It is located in the Kauai island and have all the facilities you need to really relax and enjoy.

The good thing is that you can book online to see the availability of rooms. It is also good to check the room rates as different rates are given for different season or time. Of course during peak season, you might not even get a room so it is better to book the rooms earlier. And if you are so used to being online all the time, you need not worry. They do have high speed internet service for you. And when you come back from Hawaii, bring back some gifts for me. hahaha...just kidding.

Church camp.

My church is having their annual church camp this coming June. Well, I've been to many church camps in the past and it is an enjoyable time to be with the family, other church members and at the same time learn more about the Word of God. It is a time to get away from the rut. It is a time where specific and special emphasis of the church direction were conveyed. At it is a good time. We would have not just preaching sessions, but also fun time like games and recreation time as well. I especially look forward to these time of games and recreation because it is not everyday we can have more than 100 people young and adults having fun together.

The only thing that I wish that could be different is the venue of the camp. Most of the camp are held in hotels or resorts. The good thing about hotels and resorts is that they have every facilities that you need for your comfort. But if would be interesting and fun if the church were to organize an outdoor church camp. Yeah... some of us would already shake your head and say "No Way!".

Well, it can be a "Yes Way" if we can rent camping gears. And if we choose a really outdoor type of camp, we can even use GPS facility for the trekking session. You might ask where we could get all those stuffs. Well, Lowergear.com do have camping and GPS rentals for those who wants to do outdoor camping. Hmm.... maybe not for those families with young toddlers but I'm sure the youth groups would love outdoor camps. KUALA LUMPUR: Nine days after they made their “bocor (leak)” remarks that led to an uproar among women’s groups, the two Members of Parliament finally made a formal apology to all Malaysian women.

Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin, who made the remarks in Parliament on May 9, and Jasin MP Datuk Mohd Said Yusof who supported him, issued a public apology yesterday to women “who might have been offended” by their words.

Bung Mokhtar and Mohd Said however maintained that they were merely carrying out their duty as Barisan MPs in defending the Government against “the Opposition’s unfounded claims”.

In doing so, some of the Barisan MPs might have gone overboard but there was no intention to insult women, said Mohd Said.

On May 9, during a heated exchange in the Dewan Rakyat with Opposition MPs over the roof leak at Parliament House, Bung Mokhtar had said: “Mana ada bocor? Batu Gajah pun bocor tiap-tiap bulan juga. (Where is the leak? The Batu Gajah MP also leaks every month.)”

A stern lecture: Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil looking serious with Mohd Said Yusof (left) and Bung Mokhtar at her ministry on Friday. She has told them not to trifle with gender issues and that sexism would not be accepted anywhere.

Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan demanded an apology from the MPs the next day.

Yesterday, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who held a 40-minute meeting with the two MPs at her office, told reporters that the two men were remorseful and the ministry had accepted their apologies.

“When I met them, before I could say anything, they raised their hands as if in surrender and said sorry to all women if they had offended them.

“Because of that, I accepted their apology on the ministry’s behalf with grace. That is the Malaysian way but in no way are we condoning the act,” she said.

Shahrizat said she conveyed to them her ministry’s stand on such matters.

“I would like to categorically state that sexism in any form, by words or action, by men or women, whether in Parliament made by elected representatives of both Government and Opposition or indeed anywhere else in this country, is not acceptable.

“I have in no uncertain terms communicated to the two MPs from Kinabatangan and Jasin the ministry’s unflinching stand on this matter – do not trifle with gender issues.”

Asked if the two MPs were required to personally apologise to Fong, she said it was up to them.

“I asked for an open apology and that would include Fong. I am looking at the bigger picture because a lot of women were offended by the remarks,” she said.

On whether they would be reprimanded, Shahrizat said the two men have already been punished “as the media had gone to town (with the issue)”.

At a DAP press conference in Petaling Jaya, Fong described the apology as “too little, too late”, LOONG MENG YEE reports.

Fong said she found the apology meaningless because “it did not come from the heart”.

“They apologised on Wednesday, but later retracted it. Now, they say sorry to all the women but didn’t specifically mention that they were sorry to have directed the remarks at me.

“Also, there is no sincerity on their part because they only apologised after being pressured,” she said.

Mo Siang game

My wife asked me to write about Mo Siang. Well, she says that because of this game, I stayed up late in the morning to play. lol

So far, this is the only online game that I played for more than 2 weeks. All the previous online games didn't last long, at the most 1 week top. But I stick to Mo Siang for quite a while. Want to know why? Partly because I got not much to do when I'm at work. Of course before that I play CounterStrike and before that I play Need For Speed 2, and before that I play Battle Realm. All these are not online game and does not have a continous story. So, I can stop any time and start all over. Some more got cheat codes that I can use to make the game easier to win. Not so nice lah like that.

But with Mo Siang or any online games, you will try to go up higher in your level, in your HP, Defense, Armor, MP, and skills. hehehehehe... if you don't understand what I'm saying, its okay... its all online game jargons. Right now, I have 2 main characters in Mo Siang. One named sexybun and the other starhawk. Played using sexybun first but when I realised how to level up properly, I create starhawk and now starhawk is at higher level than sexybun. Guess, I will continue to play using starhawk. I also don't want to deceive other guys becoz I when I use sexybun character, there will be a lot of guys who wants to chat with sexybun. hehehehee... biasa lah... guys wants sex with a bun... lol.

Besides just try to improve my level, I also do quests. These are various things that I have to do to get rewards. I prefer to do quest because it can do two things at one time, leveling and also getting extra rewards.

OK lah... will write more later.

50 students attack teachers

KUALA TERENGGANU: While teachers elsewhere were showered with gifts and gratitude, those at SMK Belara in Manir, near here, were pelted with stones and sticks.

Two groups of about 50 students launched the attack on the teachers at about 8am, just as they were celebrating Teachers Day with 1,300 students.

They fired stones using catapults and threw sticks and pieces of wood at several classrooms.

Teachers and their students scurried for cover from the bombardment that lasted about half an hour. Several window panels of the classrooms were damaged but no one was injured.

The first attack came from a gang of 20 students outside the main entrance and the second, from 30 students in the school field.

School authorities believed that the culprits were facing disciplinary action and had combined forces to exact revenge against the teachers.

One teacher contacted by The Star described the incident as the “Black 16” incident, stating that it was a war-like attack.

The students fled on motorcycles when patrol cars arrived at the scene.

State Education, Higher Learning, Science and Technology chairman Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Awang ordered a probe into the attack.

“Teachers should not keep silent if they have such wayward students. These boys should be expelled,” he said.

State Public Order and Traffic Chief Supt Farid Mahmud said police would soon be making several arrests.

Respect Women's Dignity, Towards A 1st World Parliament!

I'm a pro-BN supporter but that does not mean that everything that they do is right. When they do something wrong, then they must make amends or try to improve things. Recently, two BN MPs have said something that is demeaning to the women which should be highlighted to all Malaysians. I normally don't blog about Malaysian politics but this is something which affects all so I'll blog it.

The Malaysian Parliament has failed in its duty to the nation and people, in particular Malaysian women. It has shirked its responsibility to redeem itself and punish the two sexist BN MPs who have brought shame and dishonour to Parliament by the use of derogatory, crude, vulgar, sexist and gender-offensive attack on YB Fong Po Kuan (MP for Batu Gajah) and all Malaysian women on Wednesday, 9th May 2007.

Since Parliament is not prepared to do what it should do to redeem its honour and those of Malaysian women and the nation, it is now up to the ordinary Malaysian public to do what Members of Parliament and Ministers have failed to do – by making their condemnation of the sexist conduct of the two BN MPs loud and clear to the Prime Minister, the Cabinet and the country!

Football friendly

The church football team is going to have a friendly match this Sunday. It will be a rematch between Gateway FC and Bethel FC. The previous match was a bit chaotic as there are many non-team members who played for each team. This time round, we try to make sure that only those recognised as regular players will play in the match. Cannot simply bring in the Tom, Dick and Harry to play. Need to focus on building up the team as there will be more friendly match planned in the future.

So what do I think of the my team. Well, they definitely are not fit yet. Most of them just play for fun. No stamina, not much skills, no teamwork yet but they are trying to learn all these things. Hopefully, this friendly match will be a boost to all of them to improve their game.

Love letter to my lover

Dear, I love you.

I know for sure that God has ordained it that you be my wonderful and blessed helpmate. I know within my heart that you are the BEST person for me. I know how blessed I am to have you as my wife. No regrets, no turning back. Even if God would allow me to relive my life again, I'll be looking for you as my wife. After knowing you all these years, I can truly say, I'm blessed by you.

Ya ya.. I know we had our differences and arguments and quarrels and silence moments but it is all for the betterment of our marriage. It is one thing that God has blessed me with a slim, sexy wife to which I'm very grateful , *grin on the face*. But what I treasure most about you my dear is that we can communicate in our deepest level. We can CONNECT with each other. We know about each other well enough to learn to love, support, care and protect. And that is what makes the marriage stronger than the day we got married. Of course, the glue to our marriage is Jesus our Lord. Without HIM, I'm sure we will be at each other throat by now. hehehehe. And to HIM, I surrender again our marriage.

You know dear.... after 6 years ...hmmm 6 years alredi loh.... so fast kah. I feel that it is just 1 or 2 years only that we been married. There's still romance in the air. I know it is nice to remember all the beautiful moments that we had but let's try to make our future years together much better than before. Yes, we have other commitments but I'm sure with extra efforts we will have more beautiful and wonderful moments together. This is what I want to expect from our marriage.

Ah... thank you for the 3 wonderful children. I'm really blessed by them. Thank you for trying to be the best mother you could be. I too am trying to be the best father that they could have. Let's encourage each other in this that together we be the parents that God wants us to be. I'm reminded that our children are God's wonderful gifts to us, entrusted to us to care and nurture until they become the person God wanted them to be.

Having said that, I'm also reminded that God is not finished with us. May this anniversary be a reminder to us of God's love and plan for each of us individually and as one. Nothing is more satisfying than to know that we are living according to God's way and going according to His direction. We may need to reevaluate our lives from time to time and see whether we are on the right track.

OK lah.... don't want to write long long. Basically, if you can't remember all that I wrote above, just remember that I LOVE YOU lah.

The invoices and cash bills are pilling up. And I for one do not like to see my paperwork not up to date or things remained unorganized. And my wife is not free to help me out with the bookkeeping. More expenses for the business.

Already confirmed to change the single phase electric main switch to 3 phase switch. The owner came and agreed to change it. However, I had to fork out RM500 as part of the contribution to the cost. Well, better to come out now rather than lose customers and income because of frequent blackout. Hopefully with the change to 3 phase main switch, there will be no more disruption to the electric supply. Also with the change, I can add in additional air-conditioners if necessary. For long-term plan, this is a necessary step to be taken. Change which is costly but necessary.

Recycle can drinks.

I got one big bag of empty aluminium cans. Already compressed it to save space. Will donate it to the church. The church is having this campaign, Environment Friendly campaign. At the same time the church is also using the money collected from selling recycle paper, glass, plastic, iron and aluminium as fund for the children and youth activities. And since my customers buy drinks from the shop and I collected the empty cans, I managed to collect about 10 kgs so far. Will pass the item to the church this Sunday

PPP gave me a Bicycle

After much pestering and nagging from my wife, I signed up for PPP and wrote my first post on Feb 7, 2007. Like 2 months ago. My target is to earn enough to by me a bicycle so that I can exercise, and cycle to work. All my hard work pays when I received payment after payment from PPP. To date I have USD300++ in my account. Not much like other bloggers but it is more than enough for a brand new bicycle for me.

hmmmmm..... very familiar.

Down and dead.

Wallaaaaa.... both the CS teams got shot and went down in the first round. Looks like they are not well prepared at all. Wrong strategy and tactics definitely caused their downfall. I was informed that there are about 3 or 4 teams that came down from KL. Didn't expect that this tournament is open to all Malaysians. I thought it is for Malaccans only. Newey, I think it was a good exposure for the team members and at least for me. In total, I spent about RM300 to sponsor two teams. Besides the registration fees, I also provide free training hours and 2 cans of drinks for each members.

Most probably there will be another CS tournament coming this July. Hmmm..... wondering whether want to send a team.

Switch tripped again

The electric main switch tripped again just now at 5.30pm. Called the TNB but they did not come. Called them again at 6.40pm but still no news from them. Finally, I went to the electric shop nearby. Inquired from them about the problem. They said they could come and fix it for me. Told them that I'll wait until 7.30pm for TNB. If by that time still no TNB, then I'll call the electrician.

Waited and waited but still no TNB. In the meantime I informed Mr Chua, the shopowner, about the problem. Manyak kedekut, tak mau spend a lot of money to change from Single phase to 3 phase electric board. Finally, I called the electrician.

Now, it is fixed. But not sure how long this one can last. I was billed RM40, lost income from my customers. Will not pay rental to the shopowner until this matter is resolved.

Ladies, u must read this for safety precautions when staying in a hotel. Please keep in mind when you are travelling alone and forward to female friends and colleagues who may travel alone. To the guys, share this with your sisters and all those women you know. I’ve always used the menu which hang outside your doorknob to order breakfast when on business trips. I was recently staying at a well-known hotel and I ordered room service for the next day on the flyer-like thing that you stick outside your door. On this order form, one writes her name, how many persons will be eating, your room number, time of delivery and etc. I hung it on the outside of my door for collection - it was a mistake! I had given someone all the ammunition that he would need. That someone went to my door-tag got my name and room number. And then told the front desk that he was my husband (remember my tag showed 1 female name) and that he needed a new key. The clerk WITHOUT ASKING FOR ID OR CALLING MY ROOM GAVE HIM MY ROOM KEY!

At 2 a.m. I was awakened by my door opening (luckily I had put the security bar across) with a man's hand trying to figure out how to get the bar undone. I started yelling at him and told him that I was on the phone with the police. He shut the door and left. I called down to the lobby and spoke with the Front Desk - I wanted to alert Security about the incident. The hotel staff person said and I quote, "Oops, sorry about that" then hung up. Well, let’s just say that I was both terrified and angry the rest of the night. Next morning, I spoke with a Hotel Manager whose eyes almost popped out of his head when he learned that his clerk had given an unidentified stranger a key to my room. Am I glad that I am typing this to all of you with my 2 year old kid on my lap. I don’t want to think of what might have happened if the safety chain/bar had not been secured

Counter Strike Tournament

The 2 teams that Starhawk is sponsoring had their practice early this morning (1.00 - 2.30am). It's nice to see them pitting their best in the game. The college students team (ByG) is more well-coordinated. They know how to strategize well and won the competition during the practice. The other team Starhawk Shooters is a bit individualistic in the game. Maybe they don't really know each other well and there is no well planned strategy. Everybody played according to their own fancy.

Well, let's see what will happen this coming Wednesday when they have another round of training.

Game addiction

Played MoSiang Online last night. Well, it is an interesting game. Play it until morning because had to wait for customers to finish using the computers. During the game, I met one player from Sibu, Sarawak. He was one level higher than me. Told me that he has been playing the game for 2 days, non-stop. WOW!!!! Crazy but true. This game can be so addicting. Once you are into it, you just want to go higher and higher in your level and skills.

I want a hammock

I remembered sometime ago during one of my camping trip. I saw a hammock hanging in between 2 trees. I hopped on it and the next thing, I know, I was in dreamland. The cool breeze and the swaying hammock really lullaby me to sleep!

Some campers prefer to sleep in a hammock rather than in a tent. It can be quite warm sleeping in a tent. Further more, camping hammocks cost less, smaller, light weight and easier to set up compared to tents.

Happy Labour Day

When you run your own business, no off day for you on Labour Day. That's the day where you labour! Especially if you run an internet cafe, shopping complexes, food business etc. Places that people with go during their off day.

As the law requires it, I let my staff off unless I am willing to pay him triple day which I am not. :P So, I will be here the whole day. Thank God that my brothers are back so my children have companies and they won't trouble their mommy so much. :D
